Fee & Inclusive Services
At Honolulu Dermatology, our goal is to provide you the highest standard of dermatology services at fair, transparent prices. For many patients, the total fee will be $150 (plus Hawaii General Excise Tax) per visit. This fee includes a minimum 30 minute appointment with Dr. Gill, in-office testing and most minor procedures/treatments done the same day.
Examples of included procedures & treatments: skin tag removals, most mole removals, biopsies, precancerous lesion treatments, wart treatments, and skin care regimen advice, etc.
Possible Additional Charges
Extensive skin surgery, cosmetic mole removal on the face, Botox, dermal fillers / lip injections, microneedling, in-office dispensed prescriptions and skin care products incur an additional charge which will be discussed with you prior to rendering.
External services such as labs, dermatopathology, and pharmacy-filled prescriptions are usually covered by your insurance but may create additional costs due to deductibles and copays.
Insurance & Reimbursement
We do not participate with or bill any insurance plans. For private insurance plans that allow you to see out-of-network doctors (such as PPOs from HMSA, UHA, HMAA, AFL, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Cigna, UnitedHealth, Aetna, Kaiser Added Choice, etc), we can provide a completed claim form, itemized medical receipt and instructions necessary to submit to your insurance for reimbursement. In order to generate these reimbursement documents, please bring your insurance card and photo ID to your appointment and request the reimbursement forms. Many of our patients receive a reimbursement of $100-120 of the $150 fee for their initial visit, but this can depend on a multitude of factors including remaining deductibles.
Please note: We do not prepare reimbursement forms for Medicare, Medicaid (Quest), VA/Tricare or HMO plans (eg Kaiser HMO) as they do not reimburse services performed by non-participating physicians.
Payments & Cancellation Policy
We accept debit/credit card and cash and all payments are due on the day of the appointment.
Cancellation Policy: Whether booking online or via phone, a valid credit or debit card is required to book an appointment. We have a 24 hour cancellation/reschedule policy. Appointments rescheduled or cancelled within 24 hours of appointment and all no-shows will incur a charge of $75+tax to the card used at the time of booking. If appointment was prepaid, a 100% refund will apply for any cancellations 24 hours or more in advance and a 50% refund if you no-show, reschedule or cancel within 24 hours of your appointment start time.
Active duty military and their dependents will receive a 10% discount off of the $150 general dermatology consultation fee by showing their Active Duty CAC or DD Form 1173 cards. The military discount does not apply to cosmetic treatments, products or prescriptions. For prepaid appointments, the discount will be refunded upon check-out after showing ID.
